What are Jasper AI and Wordhero?

Jasper AI is an artificial intelligence writing tool that can help you create and edit content. It uses natural language processing to understand your text and make suggestions accordingly. Jasper AI is mainly used by bloggers and marketers to create blog posts, sales copy, video scripts, social media posts, ads, emails and so on.

Wordhero is a similar AI tool, but it focuses more on helping you find the right words for your content. It also has a thesaurus function to help you expand your vocabulary. Wordhero is also used by bloggers and marketers to create blog posts, social media posts, ad copy and so on.

What are their features?

Jasper AI and Wordhero both have a lot of great features, but they also have some key differences.

Jasper AI:

  • Automatically generates content ideas based on your topic
  • Helps you edit your content for grammar, style, and clarity
  • Boss Mode which helps you guide the tool to writing exactly the way you want it
  • Ton of templates to help you write for almost any kind of online busness model
  • Recipes to help you speed up your writing workflow
  • Gives you suggestions for improving your writing
  • Checks for plagiarism
  • Helps you optimize your content for SEO
  • Integrates with WordPress

Wordhero:

  • Helps you find the right words for your content
  • Gives you synonym suggestions to improve your writing
  • Checks your spelling and grammar
  • Has a thesaurus function to help you expand your vocabulary

How do they work?

Jasper AI and Wordhero both use artificial intelligence to help you write better content. Jasper AI uses natural language processing to understand your text and make suggestions accordingly.

Wordhero uses a similar approach, but it also looks at the context of your writing to provide more accurate suggestions.

Jasper AI and Wordhero are both tools that use GPT-3 to help you write better content. GPT-3 is a machine learning platform that helps you create better content. It uses artificial intelligence to understand your text and make suggestions accordingly. It was created by OpenAI, a nonprofit research company.

Jasper AI has been around the longest compared to Wordhero (which only launched recently). Jasper AI used to be called Jarvis. Jarvis was rebranded and renamed to Jasper due to a legal issue with Marvel.

Quality of writing

Short-form content

Short-form content means content that is less than 1000 words. This can include blog posts but mainly refers to social media posts, sales copy and emails.

Jasper AI:

The quality of the writing tends to be quite good, especially with Boss Mode. If you switch to Power Mode, you have a huge library of templates you can use to assist you with your writing.

At times, Jasper got it wrong, but most of the times it was perfect. At least to me. It may be subjective to the writer though.

The available templates makes it so easy to generate content for any kind of short-form content. There are templates for creative stories, video topic ideas for YouTube, script outlines, Amazon product descriptions, Google ads headlines, real estate listings, personal bio pages, Quora answers and so on. Their most popular template is the AIDA Framework and PAS framework used primarily for creating engaging copy for sales and marketing.

Jasper AI templates

Wordhero:

The quality of the writing is good, but it makes more errors than Jasper AI. It also doesn’t provide as many helpful suggestions.

The Wordhero Assistant helps quite a bit to improve the quality of writing. The Wordhero Assistant provides you with a list of suggested words and phrases to use in your content. It also gives you synonym suggestions to help you expand your vocabulary.

They do have a lot of templates like in Jasper AI. I’ve mainly tested Blog Paragraphs, AIDA Copywriting Formula and Bullet Point Expander. In my opinion, the writing quality wasn’t super great on first run. I tend to find that it didn’t really stay on topic or just repeated what I wrote in the text fields. I needed the assistance of the Wordhero Assistant to fix it up.

Wordhero templates

Although some tweaks were needed, the quality was pretty good for short form content most of the time. Again, it’s subjective. You might find that the writing quality is great for your needs on the first run. And if it isn’t, you can eventually guide the tool to writing with amazing quality.

Long-form content

Long-form content is anything over 1000 words. This can include blog posts, articles, whitepapers and so on.

Jasper AI:

Jasper AI did better than Wordhero for long form content most of the time. Especially on the Boss Mode plan. Having said that, it did struggle at times though.

You can keep pressing “Compose” and let the writer keep coming up with its own content and headings. However, after a while, you would find that Jasper keeps repeating itself or goes on a bit of a tangent on unrelated topics.

jasper ai compose button

You really need to hold its hands and guide the writer to convey the messaging that you want to convey. The Boss Mode still remains, in my opinion, as the most superior feature to Jasper AI compared to any other AI writing tool. You can tell it things like “write a small paragraph about why turtles are slow” and it will do the job quite well.

Jasper AI Boss Mode

When it comes to long form content, you would keep using Boss Mode and tell it to write small paragraphs until you have a long form blog post. It’s like sitting with your writer and telling them what to write.

You can speed up your workflow even more if you have a voice to text plugin. That way, you can talk to Jasper AI directly, which I think is super cool.

Wordhero:

The quality of the writing in general is good, but it makes more errors than Jasper AI for long form content.

You also need to guide the writer in smaller paragraphs to convey the messaging that you want to convey.

It’s not like Boss Mode in Jasper though, where you tell the tool directly what to write about.

In order to get good outputs, I find that you would need to start a sentence and then let Wordhero finish the sentence for you.

wordhero writing assistant

Not as convenient as Jasper but still gets the job done.

Overall though, you can get similar writing quality from both Jasper AI and Wordhero, but in my opinion overall, it’s just easier to get good quality writing from Jasper AI.

You can see screenshots of Jasper and Wordhero’s outputs for “5 tips for using reputation management software”. No tweaks or guidance was done here. It’s just straight output from the AI writing tools. I’ll let you be the judge in terms of writing output quality.

SEO Capabilities

If you’re a blogger like myself, then SEO is really important when it comes to writing blog posts as that’s the secret sauce to getting some of that juicy traffic flowing to your site.

It can be a struggle to keep up with SEO rules that keep changing all the time. While Jasper AI doesn’t have SEO capabilities, it integrates with another tool, SurferSEO, which is a dedicated tool aimed at helping simplify on-page SEO and keyword research.

When you start writing with Jasper, it helps you optimize your content for SEO in real-time and even gives you a score out of 100 to show how well your content is optimized.

It takes into account things like the recommended length of your blog posts, how many headings and paragraphs you need, how much keyword density you need for suggested keywords as well as NLP keywords (super advanced SEO stuff). All this can help you rank really well on Google and give you great quality traffic.

SurferSEO

Unfortunately, Wordhero does not come with any SEO capability. It’s simply a writing tool and that’s it. You would need to run your content through a dedicated SEO tool separately. You could still sign up to SurferSEO, but then there would be some back and forth as you copy and paste text between both tools.

Ease of use

Jasper AI:

The interface is very user-friendly and easy to use. However, if you’re new to AI writing tools, it might take some time to get used to how it works and how to get the best out of it.

You also get a Google Docs style editor (if you’re on the Boss Mode plan). This can be really intuitive if you’ve worked with Google Docs before.

In terms of features, there’s a lot going on. It can be a little overwhelming at first, but there are tons of training resources available. There’s video training, live video calls, blogs and tutorials that you can easily find to get you going.

While there is a little bit of a learning curve, once you’ve mastered it, you will be able to write much faster and more efficiently than you’ve probably ever done before.

Jasper AI interface

Wordhero:

In comparison to Jasper, Wordhero is significantly easier to use and more user-friendly. The interface is really minimal and you can generally get going within the first few minutes of signing up and without really doing much training.

Since Wordhero is still a little new, there aren’t really many buttons or confusing features that you would find on the interface.

There are far more buttons and settings you can customize in Jasper but that is due to the fact that Jasper has been around longer and just has a more feature-packed toolset.

Community and Support

Jasper AI:

The community is very active and supportive. There are many helpful people who are always happy to help.

In terms of support, there is a comprehensive FAQ section that covers most topics. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, there is also a live video calls where you can speak to someone in real-time. There are heaps of tutorials and videos on their YouTube channel. There’s also group trainings, classes and also a blog.

It’s quite easy to keep up-to-date with any changes to Jasper AI and you just feel like they are easily the best AI tool on the market right now.

Wordhero:

The community is not as active as Jasper AI, but there are still some people who are willing to help. It is still new, so hopefully, the community will grow over time.

There is an FAQ section but it’s not as comprehensive as Jasper AI. There are also no live video calls or group trainings. However, there is a blog that covers some topics related to Wordhero.

Pricing

Jasper AI and Wordhero both have free and paid plans.

How much does Jasper AI cost?

Jasper AI has three plans; The Starter plan, the Boss Mode plan and the Business plan.

The Starter plan starts at $29 per month and gives you 20,000 words per month. This is great if you’re just starting out. You can increase the words per month limit but that will also increase the price.

The Boss Mode plan (my personal favorite) starts at $59 per month and gives you 50,000 words per limit. That’s the equivalent of about 25 – 50 blog posts a month which could be more than enough if you’re not a full-time blogger.

There is also a Business plan which is mainly for teams and businesses. You have to reach out to Jasper to get a quote. The main benefit of the Business plan is that you get a dedicated manager and premium support whenever you need it.

For any plan you choose, you can still use Jasper for free for 5 days to test it out.

How much does Wordhero cost?

Wordhero costs $49 per month or $348 per year (equivalent of $29 per month).

It tends to be more cost-effective than Jasper as it gives you unlimited words. Bear in mind that even though it is unlimited, it is fair use. They don’t want you to misuse the tool for malicious purposes.

They have 24/7 priority support which can be useful if you are stuck on anything.

From my understanding, the pricing is temporary unless you sign up and lock in the price forever. I presume that the price will go up later as they add in newer features.

Which one is better for you?

Both Jasper AI and Wordhero are great for content creation, but they have different strengths and weaknesses.

Jasper AI is better for understanding your text and making suggestions accordingly.

However, Wordhero is better for helping you find the right words for your content and expanding your vocabulary.

Jasper AI is a better choice for those who need more help with writing long form content, while Wordhero is a better choice for those who need help finding the right words for their content.

It really depends on your needs. If you need some copy for your social media posts, Wordhero is probably the better choice and is the most affordable. If you need help writing long-form blog posts, Jasper AI might be a better choice.

Final verdict

I personally use both Jasper AI and Wordhero depending on my needs. If I’m not happy with the output of one tool, I would try it out on the other.

In my opinion, I have found Jasper AI to be superior most of the times when it comes to writing blog posts as it also has SurferSEO integrated. To me, the SEO features along with Boss Mode makes Jasper AI stand out. They just seem to have a more superior and feature-packed toolset in comparison to Wordhero. It is the best AI writing tool you can find on the market today.

Check out my full review of Jasper AI.

Wordhero is still new and doesn’t have as many features as Jasper AI. Still I would recommend it if you’re on a tighter budget as it also does give great output, even though it may not be as great as Jasper AI. Wordhero is being actively worked on, so it might be a completely different story this time next year.

As of right now though, I would say Jasper AI is the winner hands down. But that does not mean Wordhero is useless. Both are great tools on their own, and I’m sure they will become more evenly matched in due time.

Summary

Choosing the right AI tool for your content creation needs can be difficult. Jasper AI and Wordhero are both great options, but they have different strengths and weaknesses.

Hope this Jasper AI vs Wordhero review has been useful to you.
