How to write a book really fast
Nowadays, writing one book a year is not enough. This is because the market is becoming more competitive and readers are becoming more demanding.
So, how can you write a book really fast?
The slowest part of writing a book is usually the beginning. This is when you are trying to come up with an idea and figure out what you want to say. It can be difficult to get started, but once you do, the rest of the process will flow much more smoothly.
Another slow part of writing a book is when you reach the editing stage. This is because you need to make sure that your book is perfect before you publish it. There are many ways to edit a book, and it can take a lot of time to get it right.
However, one of the slowest parts of writing a book as an author is writer’s block. This is when you can’t think of anything to write, or you’re stuck in a rut and don’t know how to get out.
Let’s dissect these problems one by one so that you can start writing your book really fast. I’m not talking about how to write a book faster than normal. I’m talking about how to write a high-quality book in a record amount of time. We’re talking 7 days if you’re up to it!
Find a good place to write
When writing a book, whether it be a novel or a non-fiction book, you need to find a good place to write. This is because you need to be in the right mindset to write a book. You can’t just sit down at your computer and start typing away like it’s a clockwork type of job.

You need to find a place where you feel comfortable writing. This could be at your local coffee shop, in your home office, the library or even in a park. It doesn’t matter where you write, as long as you feel good about it.
Another important thing to consider when finding a place to write is the noise level. You need to be able to concentrate when you write, so if there’s too much noise around you, it will be difficult to focus.
Remove distractions
Once you’ve found a good place to write, the next step is to remove distractions. This is because you need to be able to focus on your book and not be distracted by other things.
There are many things that can distract you when you’re writing, such as social media, email, the internet, TV or even people around you. So, it’s important to find a place where you can be alone and not be distracted by anything.
One of the best ways to remove distractions is to turn off your phone and put it away from you. This way, you won’t be tempted to check it every few minutes.
Plan what you want to write about
Before you begin writing, it’s important that you have a solid outline related to what you want to write about.
Having a story outline will help you write your book faster because you’ll know exactly what needs to be included. This will also make the editing process much easier because you’ll be able to see if anything is missing or needs to be changed.
A detailed outline will be even better and help you to write quickly than having a basic outline.
So make sure you have a solid outline before you start a writing session. Otherwise, you’ll be spending a lot more time than you think on staring at a blank page.
Set a goal
The next step is to set a goal. This is because you need to know what you’re working towards. If you don’t have a goal, it will be very difficult to stay motivated and on track.
Your goal could be to write 500 words per day, or it could be to write a certain number of pages per week. It doesn’t matter what your goal is, as long as you have one.
It’s important that you set a realistic goal though. If you set a goal that’s too high, you will become discouraged and give up. However, if you set a goal that’s too low, you won’t challenge yourself and you won’t improve as a writer.
Make sure you hold yourself accountable throughout the entire writing process.
So, find a balance and set a goal that’s just right for you.
Set a schedule
The next step is to set a schedule. This is because you need to be consistent when you write. You can’t just write whenever you feel like it. You need to have a set time that you write every day, or every week.
This will help you to stay on track and make sure that you’re making progress. It’s also important to set a deadline for your book. This will help to keep you focused and motivated.
You can use a dedicated tool like Scrivener to help you stay on track with your writing. This software will help you to set a schedule and track your progress. Otherwise, a simple Excel sheet should suffice.
Get started

The next step is to just get started. Get a rough draft out first. This is the most important step, because if you don’t start, you’ll never finish.
Sit down at your computer and start writing. It doesn’t matter what you write, just get something down on paper. Once you get started, the rest will flow much more easily.
Don’t worry too much about making any spelling or grammatical mistakes. That can be handled in the editing phase. Right now, let your creativity take over and just keep writing until you have come up with a great first draft.
Your writing time will be reduced if you spend more time on writing your rough draft and less time on looking for the perfect word.
You won’t realize it, but once you start getting into a bit of a writing habit, it will get easier and easier to write faster.
Carry out writing sprints
One of the best ways to write fast is to carry out a writing sprint. This means setting a timer for a certain amount of time and just writing non-stop until the timer goes off. This is a great way to get started because it gets your creative juices flowing. Once you start writing, you’ll find that the words will just come to you.
You can start with sprints of just five minutes, and then work your way up to longer ones. The key is to just keep writing and not worry about making mistakes. You can always go back and edit your work later.
Take breaks
It’s important to take breaks when you write, especially if you’re doing writing sprints. This is because you need to give your mind a break so that you can come back fresh.
If you try to write for too long without a break, you will start to lose focus and your work will suffer.

I once tried to write for 3 straight hours without taking a break, and I ended up losing focus. I remember looking back at my writing the next day and found that my work was terrible.
While you might be thinking that taking breaks would slow down your writing, it actually does the exact opposite.
We’re not looking to write a book just for the sake of writing a book. We’re looking to write a book that’s actually worth reading!
So, make sure to take a few minutes every hour or so to just relax and recharge. You can use this time to get up and walk around, or you can just sit back and take a few deep breaths.
Improve typing speed
One of the best ways to write faster is to improve your writing speed. This is because the faster you can type, the more words you can get down on paper.
There are a few different ways that you can improve your typing speed. One way is to practice regularly. Another way is to use a program like Typing Master Pro. This software will help you to learn the proper way to type and it will also give you typing exercises to improve your speed.
If you can increase your typing speed, you’ll be able to write a lot more words in a shorter amount of time. This is one of the best ways to improve your writing speed.
Touch typing has other benefits too like fewer errors, increased accuracy, and improved efficiency.
Use a voice recognition software
Another great way to write faster is to use a voice recognition software. This type of software allows you to dictate your writing instead of typing it out.
There are a few different types of voice recognition software available, but the one that I recommend is Dragon NaturallySpeaking. This software is very accurate and it’s also quite fast.
With this type of software, you can easily write a book in a fraction of the time it would normally take you.
If that is out of your budget, then you can use the Dictate feature of Microsoft Word (only available in the Microsoft365 version).
Set a daily word count goal
One of the best ways to stay on track with your writing is to set a daily word count goal. This is a goal that you set for yourself that you want to achieve each day.
For example, my daily word count goal is 2000 words. Once I reach that goal, I can stop writing for the day.
And I literally mean stop for the day. Go out and enjoy your life. You’ve earned it!
Having a daily word count goal will help to keep you motivated, and it will also help you gauge your progress.
If you’re struggling to write fast, then I recommend setting a daily word count goal of 1000 words. This might seem like a lot, but it’s actually quite achievable if you focus and put your mind to it.
To be honest, it really doesn’t matter how many words you write a day. Just make sure you always plan time for these writing sessions. Start with however many words makes you feel comfortable and then ramp it up when you start feeling comfortable writing faster.
Make use of the Pomodoro technique
The Pomodoro technique is a time management method that can be used to improve your focus and concentration.
This technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, and it has since been used by millions of people around the world.
The basic idea behind the Pomodoro technique is to work for 25 minutes and then take a five-minute break.
You can use a timer to keep track of your work and break periods. There are a few different Pomodoro timers available, but I recommend using the Tomighty Pomodoro Timer.
This technique is great for helping you to stay focused, and it can also help you to write faster.
How fast can a book be written?
The answer to this question depends on a few different factors. For example, the length of the book and the subject matter will play a role in how fast it can be written.
Generally speaking, a book can be written quite quickly if you have a plan and you’re focused on writing.
If you want to write a book in record time, then I recommend following the tips that I’ve outlined in this blog post. A little later in this post, I will show a really fast way of writing book in serious record time.
How fast can you write 100 pages?
Generally speaking, 100 pages can be written quite quickly if you have a plan and you’re focused on writing. 100 pages is roughly around 50,000 words.
On average, you can expect to take about 20.8 hours to write a 100 page book (41.7 hours if it’s handwritten). So if you dedicated 2 hours of writing day, you can finish 100 pages of writing in just over 10 days.
That’s purely just for writing. If you need time for research, citations, etc, then it can take well over 160 hours or 80 days. Yeah, a massive difference right there!
Of course, this is just an average and your actual writing speed will depend on a number of factors.
How long does it take to write a 500 page book?
Well, if we base it on the above, the average time to write a 500 page book would be 5x more roughly. So that’s 50 days if you’re typing it out, and 100 days if you’re handwriting it.
Again, there are other factors that may affect the actual time.
How many words a day to write a novel in a month?
This really depends on the person. If we use the average person typing speed of 40 words per minute, that’s around 2400 words per hour.
If a person writes for just two hours every day, that’s 4800 words a day and 144,000 words in a month (30 days).
That’s a pretty good novel length!
Of course life and other factors will come into play which will affect the actual time it takes to write a novel in a month.
But if you’re dedicated and focused, it is possible to write a novel in a month.
You would need to binge watch a whole lot of motivational videos and listen to motivational music if you decide to take on something like this.

The answer to this question may vary from author to author. However, there are a few things that most authors do in order to write books quickly.
First, they have a plan. They know exactly what they want to write about, and they have an outline of the book. This saves them a lot of time because they don’t have to stop and figure out what to write next.
Second, they focus on writing. They make sure that they have uninterrupted blocks of time where they can sit down and write without any distractions.
Third, they use the Pomodoro technique (or something similar) to help them stay focused and avoid burnout.
Fourth, they set daily word count goals. This helps them to gauge their progress and stay motivated.
Fifth, they don’t strive for perfection. They know that the first draft doesn’t have to be perfect, and they just focus on getting the words down on paper (or screen).
Finally, they have people helping them (especially if they are experienced). They might have a beta reader or an editor who can help them to catch any mistakes.
What’s the fastest a book has been written?
The fastest a book has been written is in 31 days by James Patterson. The Guinness World Record for the shortest time to write a novel is held by British author Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, who wrote Paul Clifford in 24 days (30,000 words).
Can you write a book in 3 days?
It’s possible to write a book in three days, but it’s not advisable. Writing a book is a huge undertaking, and it’s important to give yourself enough time to write, edit, and revise the book.
If you’re set on writing a book in three days, then you need to dead focused.
Let’s take the minimal word count of a book to be 50,000 words. A quick Google search for the minimal length of a novel gave me that answer.
Now, you would need to produce 16,667 words a day in order to reach that goal. In other words, you would need to spend about 10 hours a day straight up writing.
In my opinion, it’s a horrible idea!
Make your timelines more realistic.
In fact, I know a way to write a 50,000 word book in 7 days which I’ll explain next.
What is the trick to write fast?
So what is the secret to writing really fast? I’m talking about record time. In other words, within 7 days or so.
It’s all about leverage!
In this case, I would leverage an AI writing tool.
AI writing tools have been revolutionary in the writing space and known to create interesting and engaging articles.
The best AI writing tool to use for writing novels is hands down Jasper AI. There are countless other AI writing tools on the market, but they are nowhere near as good as Jasper.

The best thing about Jasper is that you can treat it like your personal writing assistant. They have an active community where you can interact with like-minded authors and writers, and their development team is very active and continually add new features to the tool.
So how are we going to use Jasper to help us write faster?
First of all, we need to kill off one of the slowest parts when it comes to writing books; writer’s block!
The best thing about Jasper is that it can save you time and give you new ideas. You no longer need to waste time dealing with writer’s block. That’s one key area where Jasper really helps when it comes to writing faster.
You can use Jasper to draft out the names of each chapter. You can then use the tool to create an outline for each of the chapters. Finally, you can let the tool expand on each of the outlines and write an engaging story for you.
